IFA current information

"... Due to applications to extend the IFA pharmaceutical form, IFA GmbH has expanded the IFA pharmaceutical form table as of 1st April 2024.

The extension of the pharmaceutical form table may lead to changes in article-identifying characteristics with possible effects on the reference price allocations (Festbeträge) or aut idem. Therefore, the extension is made in accordance with a procedure agreed with the expert groups, with a lead time before first publication.

If you carry medicinal products in your range, you are obliged to report the pharmaceutical form in line with section 3 of the SPC according to § 131 paragraph 4 SGB V (German Social Code Book 5).

The following new pharmaceutical forms are available from 1st April 2024 for first publication on 1st April 2025:

• Oral lyophilisate (LYE)
• Oral powder (PUE)

If any corrections need to be made in the data field pharmaceutical form in connection with the current pharmaceutical form extension, please let us know. With correct data notification, you make a significant contribution to ensure that data users can properly dispense and invoice your products. Please use Auftragstabelle für Änderungen an IFA-Darreichungsformen and send it to us in the case of changes to pharmaceutical data with the current SPC. In this exceptional case, we will process your notification free of charge until the specified publication date while maintaining the PZN. After a successful assessment we will change the pharmaceutical form and publish it for the first time on 1st April 2025.

"... as of 01.02.2024, the IFA database was expanded to include the requirements of the Arzneimittel-Lieferengpassbekämpfungs- und Versorgungsverbesserungsgesetz (ALBVVG). The notification situation for the four new data fields for the elimination of supply bottlenecks suggests that there is still some need for information left. We therefore have explained the characteristics of these fields for you in more detail in the following information sheet: ALBVVG information

The new data fields are relevant to settle billing of your products. We therefore urge you to check this product data, complete any missing notifications and correct any incorrect information.

Please request your changes and additions in the IFA portal or request your current EAD file on the IFA website and send the amended EAD file to ead@ifaffm.de.

"... over the past few months, we have enjoyed a steadily growing number of users of the IFA portal. In the meantime, we have been working on its further development and today we have reached the next milestone. We are pleased to offer you the possibility to order first publications of your products!

During the development, it was important to us that you can notify your first publications conveniently and time saving, and that you can focus on the essentials by using templates and pre-settings.

Therefore, we have added the following features to the IFA portal for you:

• Assisted capture of first publications of PZN
• Selection of existing PZN pre-allocations for publication
• Use of already published products as a template
• Duplicating a first publication already entered in the notification order
• Pre-setting of default values analogous to the IFA excel order files
• Pre-setting of non-relevant data fields depending on the selected product category

To help you get started, the annex provides a brief explanation on how to capture first publications in the IFA portal. However this is only available in German unfortunately.

In the coming months, we will focus on providing functions for capturing and editing PZN pre-allocations in order to continuously develop the IFA portal and provide you with a user-friendly and convenient platform for your notification orders. Please note that the IFA portal is currently only available in German.

"... as of 27.07.2023 Arzneimittelpreisverordnung has changed for prescription-only medicinal products. This change will be implemented at IFA GmbH on the next possible publication date, 01.09.2023.

Due to Arzneimittel-Lieferengpassbekämpfungs- und Versorgungsverbesserungsgesetzes (ALBVVG) the calculation of the Apothekeneinkaufspreis (AEP) and Apothekenverkaufspreis (AVP) changes as follows:

Abgabepreis des pharmazeutischen Unternehmers (APU)
+ 3.15 percent (max. 37.80 Euro)
+ 0.73 Euro
= Apothekeneinkaufspreis (AEP)

The attached excel EAD file contains your company’s affected prescription-only medicinal products with the prices recalculated as of 01.09.2023. If you consider it is necessary to correct the prices reported, please send us the corrected list by Tuesday, 15.08.2023 to ead@ifaffm.de exclusively. Thank you in advance.

"... recently we informed you in a German-speaking mailing about the new possibilities to comfortably view and edit your published product data via IFA portal. In the course of this innovation process, we would like to inform you that orders via order forms in PDF format will still be possible until 30.06.2023.

This means that EAD (Electronic Order Data Processing), the IFA order tables and the IFA portal (currently available in German) will be available to you as ways of placing orders from 01.07.2023:
